Researching Potential Target Audience

After researching for a potential target audience, we have now realised that our film could pass for an age certificate of a 12. We originally thought that it should have been a 15 as we thought that most of the people that would watch this thriller film would most likely be between the ages of 15-24, but after looking at the age restrictions again we have decided that it should be able to pass a 12 because it does not show any of the following requirements that would make the film a 15; 

  strong violence

 frequent strong language (e.g. 'f***').

  portrayals of sexual activity

  strong verbal references to sex

  sexual nudity

  brief scenes of sexual violence or verbal references to sexual violence

  discriminatory language or behaviour

  drug taking

Our film only connotes to violence it doesn't actually show any, that is was makes our film a thriller. Therefore this means that it would be set at the age restriction of a 12.
